Monthly Meeting!
Our Main Monthly Meeting has moved from the first Thursday to the Second Saturday beginning May 8th 2010!
After much discussion, including a poll on our yahoo bulletin board with over a 90% approval of the idea, the decision has been made to move our meetings to the 2nd Saturday of the month beginning May 8th.
The layout for the Saturday Meeting beginning May 8th will be:
8:15 am Doors Open Sign in – Exhibits – Networking – Food
8:30 – 10:30 Sweets & Coffee Available (While it lasts!)
8:45 Focus Group Preview
9:00 – 9:45 Focus Groups
10:00 Main Meeting Starts
10:00 – 10:20 Market Update
10:20 – 10:25 Meeting Sponsor
10:25 – 10:30 Announcements
10:30 – Noon Main speaker
Noon – 1:00 Networking Lunch for Workshop Attendees
1:00 – 4:00 Workshop
1:00 – Done Networking on site for morning attendees not attending workshop.
At least twice a year we will do a "No Sales Saturday" with an extended "bigger picture" Market Update, no main speaker, and a second focus session from 11:00 am until noon. We will then have a free lunch for all attending. We plan to do this in July and December.
We can see a number of other benefits for this move:
1. Ability for investors living at a distance and fighting traffic to attend
2. One trip to the meeting to get all of the content
3. Help to keep the membership cost low by leasing only one day for the meeting
4. Volunteers only setting up one day instead of two days a month
5. No parking issues at the school for Saturday
6. No issues at the school for space to meet
7. Ability and space to start CE classes for real estate agents and mortgage lenders in the afternoon of the meeting day
8. Time for extended networking after the main meeting – no rush out to get home.
These are a few of the positives I can list on the fly but I know there are many more. The two biggest negatives I can see is that it will be a long day and nobody I know likes change but I believe this is a very positive change in a good direction. Our idea of this came from the RICH Club in Houston TX. They have been very successful with this as we hope to be. Please spread the word!
